GPQA was established by the GPQA Act No. 14, 2015, which repeals the Gambia Product Quality Agency Act, Cap 59 laws of Republic of The Gambia, 2004, and enacts the Gambia Product Quality Agency Act, 2015 for the purpose of providing additional functions for the organisation, increasing penalties for violations, and for related matters.
